With most of the World Cup kits launched by adidas, Nike and Puma we will take a look what the goalkeepers will be wearing at the tournament in Brazil.
Hosts Brazil, World Cup champions Spain and 2006 World Cup winners Italy have launched their kits and they have revealed their new goalkeeper kits for the tournament in June. Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon will be wearing a maroon home goalkeepers kit which reveals a unique squared design on the front which spans from under the arms to the base of the shirt. All of Puma’s teams including Chile, Uruguay, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana and Switzerland will wear this template design at the 2014 World Cup.
Current World champions Spain and their goalkeeper Iker Casillas will be wearing a two tone sky blue and blue home goalkeepers kit. Like the Spain home kit it features the gold trim on the adidas stripes and branding representing the nation’s golden era of football. Germany’s Manuel Neuer will wear a lime green goalkeepers kit. Other adidas teams including Argentina, Colombia, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria and Russia will wear the same template at the 2014 World Cup.
Brazil’s goalkeeper shirt supplied by Nike reveals a dark green design with yellow trim on the sleeves. The likes of Julio Cesar or Jefferson may start for Brazil at the World Cup. The France goalkeeper shirt will be worn by Hugo Lloris and it is very similar to the Brazil home kit featuring a slightly lighter shade of green. Other Nike teams including Netherlands, Australia, South Korea, Croatia, England, Portugal and the United States will wear the template as the Brazil goalkeepers shirt.
Several of the best goalkeepers will take centre stage at the 2014 World Cup including Manuel Neuer, Iker Casillas, Gianluigi Buffon, Jugo Lloris, Thibaut Courtois, Joe Hart, Igo Akinfeev, Diego Benaglio and many more.
