Could ITV become the new home of Big Brother?

The Big Brother 2014 eyeReports have claimed that ITV bosses are considering buying the rights for Big Brother.
The iconic reality show is currently airing its 15th series on Channel 5, but the broadcaster's two-year deal will expire later this year.

ITV is now said to be considering whether or not to launch a bid for the series to shore up its new channel ITVBe, which will launch shortly and be the home of franchises such asThe Only Way Is Essex and Real Housewives.

According to The Guardian, ITV is unlikely to ultimately snap up the series because the rights are said to cost £20m a year.
However, sources have suggested that the idea has not yet been completely ruled out.

The future of Big Brother currently remains in doubt, as some parties have speculated that Channel 5 may focus solely on the Celebrity version of the show in the future.

It is also unclear how Channel 5's new owners Viacom - who bought the broadcaster for £450m last month feel about the future of Big Brother, though it is considered a success for the channel.
