Introduction
At First Aberdeen we're always looking to see how we can improve our bus services. We want more people to travel on our buses. That's why we've introduced Platinum - the ultimate bus service.
Platinum is all about high quality. Every single aspect of a Platinum bus journey is about delivering the highest possible standards for our customers.
We looked at our network and decided that Platinum should be introduced on Service 19 which operates between Tillydrone the city centre and Culter.
And so our 11 month project began - read on and see how the journey unfolds!
The Platinum Buses
Service 19 is operated by 12 buses - 11 double decks and one single deck. All 12 have been completely refurbished. And when we say refurbished, we mean much more than just a lick of paint!
Each bus has been fitted with black leather seats that carry an embroidered Platinum logo on the headrest and TV screens which feature BBC News broadcasts and service updates. Platinum customers will also enjoy free WiFi for internet access on the go.
As well as all this each bus has been painstakingly repainted into a new livery with dedicated Platinum branding inside and outside the bus.
This really does give this special service the WoW factor!
The Platinum Drivers
First Aberdeen has selected 50 of our best drivers for Platinum. Each of them has received advanced customer care training as well as a full briefing on our Platinum brand and service.
First's drivers are our ambassadors - the public face of the company - and each Platinum driver will be proudly representing the brand.
Smartly dressed in dedicated Platinum uniforms, our drivers will be happy to help customers get the best value fares as well as helping anyone that's new to bus travel.
The Platinum Team
As well as our drivers, we have a dedicated Platinum team based at our depot - King Street, Aberdeen. This team includes mechanics, cleaners, engineers, controllers, customer agents and a wide variety of support staff.
All working hard to make every journey a special journey.
And Finally...
We want our customers to unwind on these newly refurbished Platinum buses on every single journey. We're confident customers will love their new service but if they don't for whatever reason, Platinum drivers have the ability to issue a free complimentary single journey voucher.
That's our 11 month journey so far, it's brought us to Thursday 14 November 2013, the day Service 19, the turquoise line went Platinum. Now the real journey begins...
