Apple announces the launch date for iOS 11— and reveals how it will whip your device into shape

Apple iOS 11 launch date

It's official: we're mere days away from the launch of Apple's latest operating system, iOS 11.
Apple CEO Tim Cook shared the news, at the company's latest media launch on Tuesday (September 12), that iOS 11 will begin rolling out on September 19 for iPhone and iPad.
At its annual Worldwide Developers Conference back in June, the tech giant gave us our first glimpse at nearly a dozen new features designed to completely revolutionise your device — from expanded customisation to Apple Pay options.
For starters, you're no longer going to have to scramble for WiFi passwords while shopping or at work, as long as another iDevice is in the vicinity. Simply by pressing the two devices together, you'll be able to share WiFi.
Then there's indoor mapping of airports and shopping malls, which will help speed up your travel and leisure time. And if you don't have cash on you, iOS 11 will even let you pay someone through iMessage, using your virtual wallet and Apple Pay.
In terms of customisation, Siri will be going multilingual by translating certain phrases into Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Control Centre is getting a completely new look, as well as the ability to let you customise your screen with added widgets and buttons, or less clutter if you prefer a cleaner look. There's even a short cut to Low Power Mode, at last!
Apple's head honcho Tim Cook also announced the upgrade to Apple TV along with the latest models of iPhone and Apple Watch at the brand new Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.
