Liverpool has fast became a giant in the world of tourism. Each year thousands of tourists come to the Pier Head and year after year they have been met with tour busses that do not speak their language, generally forcing them to bring their own tour guides, or more commonly, they have gone without, missing out on seeing and learning about the great sights of Liverpool.
This is all about to change, as City Sights Liverpool have introduced Liverpool’s first ever multilingual tour bus. The tour bus will be operating from today and is operating in 6 of the world’s major languages, including Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Norwegian and Italian.
Liver Lingual 1-2City Sights Liverpool have gone from strength to strength under its new director, Philip Olivier who was previously more known for his acting than his shrewd business knowledge. Since taking over the famous red busses, the company has grown and seen traffic sky rocket. The introduction of the new multilingual system will see the company grow once more, appealing to those tourists who don’t speak English as their first language.
The introduction of Mandarin onto the City Sights Liverpool tour busses will cater for the ever increasing Asian market, who are coming over throughout the year in large numbers to find out more about the city that is twinned with Shanghai and has one of the largest and oldest Chinese communities in the world.
Speaking to City Sights director, Philip Olivier he said “This isn’t only massive for our company but it will be massive for Liverpool as a city. We have needed a multilingual tour for a while now and this will make it easily accessible to the growing numbers of international tourists that arrive here all year round.”

It works with a simple audio jack that runs at the same time as the English commentary, the tourists will plug in the head phones that they can acquire from the drivers or they can bring their own and listen to the tour in their preferred language at the same time as the bus presents the English commentary by Rick Houghton of Radio City.
The customers get to see all the major sights of Liverpool’s city centre, such as the Pier Head and the Three Graces, Liverpool’s world Museum, The Walker Art Gallery, St Georges Hall, Mathew Street and the Cavern, The Town Hall, The Metropolitan and Anglican cathedral, St Johns Beacon, The Philharmonic pub and hall, China Town and much more! They operate with a 24 hour ticket that you can use to hop on and hop off at these locations as well as getting exclusive offers using the ticket.
