Thought of the Day: All Will Be Well

Image
Amidst the earthquakes of unexpected situations, the hurricanes of unreasonable behaviour, when fortune strikes against me, I will remain unmoved, knowing that finally all will be well.

Thought of the Day: Being With Myself

Image
Being enlightened means being self aware. Awareness of yourself means you don’t miss anything inside. You are aware of things like the quality of your thoughts and feelings, of how you sometimes give your power to others, and how your self-esteem occasionally fluctuates. You don’t miss anything because you know that knowing yourself is vital to being comfortable with yourself. Are you comfortable with yourself? No! Then be with your self, talk to your self, listen to your self today. Take a few moments out and have a meeting with yourself. Put yourself in your diary. Put your self at the top of your to list. And write next to it, ‘being with myself’. Miss nothing in your self.

Thought of the Day: Contentment

Image
Contentment does not come to those whose means are great, but to those whose needs are few.

Thought of the Day: Transform Negativity

Image
The energies of life come to meet us at every moment. Most come from other people who either in the same room or on the flickering, technicolour screens with which we now share most of our homes. The vast majority of these energies are not positive. So how do we handle the ‘the negatives’, whether it’s someone’s attitude, their hurtful gestures or our daily dose of world violence and mayhem. There are three cardinal rules. First, do not absorb it – don’t be an emotional sponge. Second do not reflect it back. Otherwise you begin a cycle of emotional exchanges which may last a long time. And third, do the one thing which marks us as intelligent human beings – transform it. Even if the scene is a disaster there is some benefit somewhere in it. Even if you are watching two peoples beliefs or opinions slug it out to the edge of violence don’t take sides. Instead offer a solution then stand well back. Even if the person hates you, accept their state of being and return the light o...

New pound coin: Which new £1 coins will be worth most?

Image
THE NEW pound coin is set to spark a collector’s item craze when it comes into circulation as from today. But which £1 coins will be worth the most? The 12-sided coin is the first major redesign of the pound since it was first introduced more than 30 years ago. The coin features a raft of new security features designed to prevent counterfeiting, including a hologram-style image on the front and micro-lettering on both sides. Coin collectors are eagerly awaiting the “state-of-the-art” pound which will be released today, March 28. But will certain coins be worth more than others? Yasmin Britton, product manager at The Westminster Collection, has said that the most wanted pounds will be ones minted this year. “In terms of their collectability, like any new issues, collectors will be keen to own the very first design of any new coin,” she said.  “Pound coins with the 2017 date are likely to be more sought after – especially in good condition or uncirculated.” Coll...

Thought of the Day: The greatest art

Image
It is not a big thing to be sweet to those who are sweet to you, but the greatest art is to harmonise well with those whom no one else is able to harmonise.

Thought of the Day: Real Love

Image
The problem nowadays is that love is interpreted on a gross level. Just as many people are attracted to the size and glitter of a fake diamond, so are they swayed by false, superficial love. There is no value in either. A real diamond is often quite small, but it is flawless. That is where its value lies. Real love is like a tiny diamond: it is not flashy and it is without a single flaw. Real love is one hundred percent pure. There is nothing artificial mixed into it. It is clean. There are no ulterior motives in real love.

Thought of the Day: Big Heart

Image
Do not become discouraged in the face of adversity. Understand that the bigger the heart, the bigger the obstacles it is asked to accomodate.

Thought of the Day: Be Aware

Image
The foundation of all spiritual growth and personal development is the awakening of self awareness. Most people however are not yet self aware, and the majority of those, are not aware that they are not aware. Self awareness is easy and begins with simply taking a mental step back, and observing your thoughts, feelings, attitudes and actions. Whenever you do you learn about our self and the basis of personal change and growth is always learning. Step back, what do you see, what enters your awareness? What does it tell you? What does it show you about yourself? Don’t judge it, just see it. Don’t run away from what you see just watch it. Accept it. Allow whatever is happening within your thoughts and feelings just to be. And suddenly you will find that inner peace which surpasseth all pleasure.

Thought of the Day: The Gift of the Present

Image
When the past is mixed into the present, it prevents you from experiencing the happiness the present offers.  So the question is how do you forget the past?  Focus your attention on that which is good in the present.  Do not compare the present to the past.

Thought of the Day: Concentration Ability

Image
When you want to do something sincerely and are decisive about it; the power of concentration becomes available to you. Concentration allows you to achieve more in less time and respond to situations in a more effective way.

Thought of the Day: Believe Nothing

Image
It is much easier to believe that it’s snowing, than to experience the snow. If you just believe, you can stay inside, stay warm and avoid the cold. That’s why people are led up the garden path by others beliefs. It’s easier and warmer. In the context of your spiritual or personal growth, believe nothing, experiment and test everything, in the laboratory of your own experience. Only then will you be able to separate truth from falsehood, reality from illusion, and lead others with integrity.

Thought of the Day: Mind Matters

Image
The most important part of you is your mind (not your brain – the brain is the hardware and the mind creates the software). Care for your mind, make friends with it, always feed it healthy food, engage it in positive activity, exercise it with knowledge and wisdom. Like a garden returns fragrance and beauty according to the care invested, so your mind will repay you with thoughts, ideas and visions of great beauty when tended and invested with care. Your mind is not made of matter but it does matter what you give it and what you create with it. Where your mind goes, you go. What your mind creates becomes your destiny.

Thought of the Day: Que Sera, Sera

Image
Resistance leads to persistence. Whatever you resist or push against simply persists and pushes back in equal measure. Instead, transform resistance into acceptance by practicing “Que Sera, Sera … whatever will be, will be…”

Raildar - Trains Visible in Realtime

Image
I had a email bringing my attention drawn to another website that shows public transport movements in real time. This one is called Raildar which tracks all passenger train movements in the UK. Zoom in and you will observe coloured icons that show all active trains in that area. Click on an icon and a list of timings for that particular train appears together with any delay minutes. The site is uncomplicated and seems to work well with pages loading quickly. The website can be found  here

Thought of the Day: Wise Wealth

Image
There are many words for which we have forgotten the meaning – love is one such word, and wealth is another. When we hear or use the word wealth today we immediately conjure images of huge cheques, large properties, five star holidays and the very best in everything. In fact it is this limited form of wealth, measured and defined essentially by money which blocks the realisation and manifestation of true wealth. Every human being is wealthy beyond imagination. But not in their bank accounts. Real wealth is completely intangible, invisible and deeply internal. Every human being is a unique individual spiritual entity. And as such, a source of the most precious energy in the universe. Love is the gold of the soul. We are each that gold at the core of our being. But few of us are aware of it, let alone consciously tapping it and expressing it. No one teaches us that love is what we are, that our purpose in life is to know it, and give it, and that when we do, all other energies...

Thought of the Day: Lasting Fragrance

Image
Tread lightly upon this earth, seeing, understanding but never imposing. Thoughtful, independent, be gracious in victory and defeat. Free of possessiveness, so ease of mind sweetens relationships. Like the scent of a rose the untroubled spirit imparts a lasting fragrance.

Thought of the Day: Good Feelings

Image
Good feelings for others are like ointments that heal wounds and re-establish friendships and relationships. Good feelings are generated in the mind, are transmitted through your attitude and are reflected in your eyes and smile. Smiling opens the heart and a glance can make miracles happen.

Thought of the Day: Speak Sweetly and Touch Hearts

Image
When speaking to others we usually speak from our head, or intellect. Words spoken from the head rarely touch the hearts of others. This means they don’t create any impact and are soon forgotten. The solution lies in touching the hearts of others when I speak. To do that, I need to speak with my heart as well as my head and fill my words with love.

Thought of the Day: Scattered Thoughts

Image
Uncontrolled, scattered thoughts are like a speeding car. Unless you brake you’ll crash. We need to put on the brakes if our minds are to work naturally. A natural mind is peaceful and a peaceful mind brings clarity.

Thought of the Day: Point of view

Image
When someone disbelieves us, we usually argue back and try to prove our point. Yet we find that the more we talk, the less people listen. Unable to convince them, we end up frustrated. Instead, when someone challenges my words, I should think about whether they might be right. Rather than stubbornly clinging to my point of view, I could embrace this as an opportunity to learn. Even if I am correct in my thinking, if I become able to understand someone else’s point of view without getting angry or refusing to listen, I become tolerant.

Thought of the Day: Empathy

Image
The ability to listen, understand and empathise creates a feeling of trust and friendship in others. If  I am always willing to listen, I can help them discover their own solutions to the problems they have to face.

Thought of the Day: Patience is a Virtue and a Power

Image
Patience is a virtue and a power too. Patience tells us that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and that we get over there one step at a time. Patience teaches us not to rush. Knowing that there is a reason and a season for everything it enables us to smile at the challenges, realizing that there is an answer to every problem. And, even though we cannot see it, yet there is awareness that within every crisis lies an opportunity.

Thought of the Day: Life Can Begin To Flow

Image
As we grow in strength in our spiritual life, we give up the habit of worrying. It serves no purpose other than to make us feel tense and miserable. When I stop fretting about things that are beyond my control and focus instead on generating optimistic and kind thoughts, my life can begin to flow in ever more positive directions. Such a light and easy approach to life enables me to take everything in my stride.

The Power of Your Thoughts

Image
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”—Albert Einstein Thoughts create everything. But here’s the problem. Most people spend their time thinking about what they don’t want, and they’re wondering why it shows up over and over again. In  The Secret,  we referred to this as the “don’t want” epidemic. When people think, speak, act and focus on what they don’t want, they keep it alive. You can free yourself of this epidemic by thinking and speaking about what you do want. Your thoughts not only matter, they create matter. Thought is where everything comes from. And your thoughts are where your business comes from. Consciousness is what the universe is made of; matter and energy are just two of the forms that consciousness takes. So, what am I saying here, that everything is made of thought? That thought creates the physical world? Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. In a nutshell, here is the conclusion so far of humanity’s epic quest...

Thought of the Day: Give Blessings

Image
We are all blessed with life and all the opportunities it brings, though most of us forget to notice. But we also have blessings to give. In fact, the opportunity to give our blessings may be the greatest blessing of all. By bestowing our good wishes, encouraging, empowering others, we bless. And when we do, they return a thousand-fold. Bless and be blessed.

Thought of the Day: Forgotten how to dream?

Image
Most of us have forgotten how to dream. We have exchanged our creativity for security. The current state of the world is a wake up call that brings us back to our dreams and hopes. This is the time to realise that beyond us there is another, unlimited, energy in action. This energy will surpass our expectations, if only we trust. The more we remember our dream, the more we become alert for the coincidences and synchronicity that will bring us in its direction.

Facebook begins charging users for non-friend and celebrity messaging

Image
Users have to pay up to £10 to send messages to celebrities. Facebook has begun charging users in the UK to message celebrities and people outside of their social circle. After a successful trial in America, the premium service began rolling out at the end of March. ©    PA Images   Jeff Chiu/AP with permission  According to  The Sunday Times , Facebook users can continue to communicate with friends and people who share mutual friends without a fee. However, those who wish to send messages to celebrities and people they aren't friends with will have to pay up to £10. Issuing a statement, the social networking giant says: "The system of paying to message non-friends in their inbox is designed to prevent spam while acknowledging that sometimes you might want to hear from people outside your immediate social circle. "We are testing a number of price points in the UK and other countries to establish the optimal fee that signals import...

Old £5 notes about become worthless - how long you've got left to spend them

Image
In less than two months paper fivers cease to be legal tender, but there is one place in Britain where no matter how old your paper money is they guarantee to swap it. There were close to 165 million paper £5 notes still in circulation at the start of the year, but in less than two months they all cease being legal tender. And the move to plastic fivers is gathering pace, with the Bank of England telling retailers to stop handing them out the paper version in change this week. The final cut off is May 5 this year when the paper £5 note will cease to be legal tender. Some shops might still take them, but they will be well within their rights to refuse. "Some retailers, banks and building societies may choose to accept paper £5 notes after the withdrawal date. However this is at the discretion of the individual institution," the Bank of England said on Tuesday. But there is a way to still get your money's worth after that date. The one place that wil...

Thought of the Day: Power of Determination

Image
In the midst of uncertainty, keep determination in your thoughts and that will become like a guiding light in front of you. The impossible becomes possible for those who have the power of determination.

Apple will ditch Lightning for USB-C on new iPhones

Image
Here’s a rumor we’ve not heard before. According to a report  from  The Wall Street Journal , the next iPhones will feature a “USB-C port for the power cord and other peripheral devices instead of the company’s original Lightning connector.” The wording isn’t 100 percent clear, but the  WSJ  seems to be suggesting that Apple will drop the iPhone’s proprietary Lightning port in favor of the industry’s standard USB Type-C connector. It would be an unusual move for Apple, which has never been afraid of pushing its own connection standards, but not completely inexplicable. The company has already adopted USB-C on its MacBook line, and the two standards share some key features, including reversibility. MacBook USB-C (top) vs. iPhone Lightning (bottom).   Photo by Thomas Ricker It’s also possible that the  WSJ  report means that USB-C will be incorporated not into the phone itself, but into its power adapters. That would mean replacing the USB...

Smoke alarm using voice to wake up children to be trialled

Image
Researchers from the University of Dundee are seeking hundreds of families to help them trial a new smoke alarm sound aimed specifically at waking children by using a low frequency bleep followed by a spoken message. The number of lives lost as a result of fires has fallen by half since home usage of smoke alarms became widespread. However, there is evidence to suggest that some children do not wake to commonly used smoke alarms. This has prompted a research study by Professor Niamh Nic Daeid of the University of Dundee’s Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID) and her research student Dave Coss, a fire Investigator and Watch Commander with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service. The project is also supported by Derby Housing and smoke alarm manufacturer Ei Electronics. The research showed that children respond to different tones and frequencies of alarm than adults and that boys and girls are wakened by a different combination of sounds. The rese...

Thought of the Day: Enjoy Every Moment

Image
Do you remember to enjoy every moment of each day? Every day is important and valuable. Realise that each passing moment  is the most important moment. Life is made up of millions of moments. The quality moments are those when the soul is focused, alert and in the present, yet very few moments are lived in this way and enjoyed to the full. Consider each moment in your day as the most important moment to be lived and experienced to the full. Realise that when you are mindful of every present moment you are able to express and experience the moment in pleasure and appreciation

Image
Google has announced that the Pixel 2 is expected this year…kind of. Rick Osterloh, Google’s Hardware Chief, told Android PIT that they would be following the industry standards of producing sequels to highly successful smartphones. “There is an annual rhythm in the industry. So, you can count on us to follow it….You can count on a successor this year, even if you don’t hear a date from me now.” -Google’s Hardware Chief, Rick Osterloh Rick Osterloh shot down hopes of a budget Pixel phone coming out this year. The Pixel “2B” was rumoured to be in development and raised hopes for a budget device like the iPhone SE but Osterloh said that the Pixel would “stay Premium”.  The phone will probably come out in October. 'DuckTales' Reboot: Watch the First Trailer

Image
It looks like the years have been very good to Donald Duck and his extended flock. Disney XD on Thursday released the first official trailer for its upcoming  DuckTales  reboot, revealing updated versions of the adventurous birds that ruled the afternoon-TV roost from 1987 to 1990. Along with the gang’s slick new look, you’ll also likely notice a change in some of their voices — Donald’s nephews, for example, no longer sound like they swallowed bicycle horns — but fear not, all of the original series’  feathers  bones are still there. The reboot’s voice cast includes David Tennant ( Jessica Jones ) as Scrooge McDuck; Danny Pudi ( Community ), Ben Schwartz ( Parks and Recreation ) and Bobby Moynihan ( Saturday Night Live ) as Huey, Dewey and Louie, respectively; Beck Bennett ( SNL ) as Launchpad McQuack; Toks Olagundoye ( Castle ) as Mrs. Beakley; and Kate Micucci ( The Big Bang Theory ) as Webby Vanderquack. Though an exact premiere date has yet to b...
