The symbolic meaning of the firefly of course deals with light, illumination and the like. Although an important focus, the issue of light is not the high feature behind the symbolic meaning of the firefly. Rather, it is the messages this wonderous creature gives us while her light is off may be most profound to our growth. An ordinary looking creature during the day, admittedly, the firefly is a remarkable sight when it glows at night. This is a symbolic message to us humans that although our physical appearance may seem one way - it is our internal makings - what is inside us (such as our spirit) that makes us shine from the inside out. That which is within us will always illuminate us and those around us.

Everyone has a song in their heart. Everyone has a reason for being here and a season for making their highest, greatest most auspicious contribution. No one knows what that is or when that is for anyone else. Only our own heart knows what and when it is for us. Your heart wants to sing. Don’t die with your music still within you.

As a perfect rose, opening ever so slowly in the early summer sunshine, you have been quietly revealing that which, for far too long you have taken great pains to hide and protect. The eternal Spirit of you which you have kept most secret. The limitless depth of your divine beauty, the warm, nurturing love of your Inner Light...  Finally, you are bursting forth for all the multiverse to marvel over. This life is far too short to spend wasting our precious time and energy on getting angry or upset with those emotional, spiritual or psychological internet bullies that we occasionally encounter... We know intuitively, deep down inside, that any dark and emotionally driven 'tit-for-tat' responses are unworthy of us.  Do not fan the flames..... Rise above the pending drama. Take a breath and approach each situation considerately with the love and patience that only you are capable of. 

Microsoft  could be discontinuing Internet Explorer in favour of a new web browser referred to as 'Spartan'. The next-generation software will be faster than the latest versions of Internet Explorer and resemble Google Chrome, according to  ZDNET . © Microsoft Microsoft has been tipped to unveil 'Spartan' alongside the  first consumer build of Windows 10 on January 21 . The computing firm is expected to gradually phase out Internet Explorer, with early editions of the new operating system shipping with both browsers to ensure compatibility with all websites. Designed to work across multiple platforms, Windows 10 combines enterprise functionality with consumer features. A Technical Preview Programme has already been launched (which I am currently testing), while a full release of Windows 10 is not expected until late 2015. Now I have seen 4x4 Emergency vehicles in different shapes or sizes ranging from this Fire Tender based in Launceston Cornwall. To recent ones like this Ambulance based in the West Midlands. Now I present to you the New 4x4 Range made by Skodi and it is The Skodi Yeti based in Devon for the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary. I won't mention the station it is based at, but it certainly made me laugh when I saw it.  What is your opinions on this New 4x4? While many may have appreciated Facebook's "Year in Review" app, others were unhappy about being urged to revisit a difficult 2014.  You might be asking yourself that as you scroll through your Facebook feed trying to ignore that "Year in Review" app that randomly gathers your photos and scotches them together into a presumed personal narrative of 2014. But not everyone is thanking Facebook for the memories. The Washington Post writes:  "The posts are slickly designed, even if their visual uniformity can make scrolling through a news feed of the digital holiday letters a bit grating. However, in some cases the summaries can go beyond irritating and become downright cruel." The main quality of a hero is courage – not a reckless bravado, full of impulse and ambition,  but a quiet, introspective courage. In that quietness, the hero is able to discern and then decide on a particular course of action. He might see that it is better to let go of another person’s past rather than hold it against them or constantly remind them of it. With humility and courage the past is forgiven; the hero completely lets go. Only heroes can do such things.

Learning to enjoy the present moment and give my best, no matter  what the situation, protects me from becoming jaded by life. If when my stamina begins to diminish I remind myself to enjoy whatever I do and pour love into every task, then my energy will be replenished.

The Penlee Lifeboat Disaster The Union Star was a brand new mini bulk carrier launched only weeks before her disastrous end. Her Captain Henry Morton and his wife Dawn watched the launch at the Danish port of Ringkobing. On December 11 1981 captain Morton set sail on his maiden voyage to Ijmuiden to pick up his cargo of fertiliser, which was to be delivered to the Irish port of Arklow. On board for this first trip were his wife, two teenage daughters, and a crew of four. The Village of Mousehole Three days later in hurricane force winds the Union Star ran into trouble eight miles east of the Wolf Rock when sea water managed to get into her fuel supply. It was the beginning of the end. By Saturday night, just five days after the voyage had begun, the Union Star lay battered and wrecked on the Cornish coast, and Henry Morton, his wife, daughters, and all his crew had perished. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations in which we try to make others happy, even though in doing so we neglect ourselves and experience sorrow. We often do things for the sake of others, even though it is difficult. And if this gift is not recognised or appreciated we tend to get upset. I will experience the greatest happiness if I give without expecting anything in return. I have to learn to give wisely . When I give with a pure heart I will experience happiness and make those around me happy too.

On Monday 8th December the contract to operate the Docklands Light Railway passed over to a partnership of Keolis and Amey. The concession had up to then been with Serco for the previous eight years. The new operator, known as 'KeolisAmey Docklands', is now set to hold the contract until at least 2021, although it may continue until 2023 if all parties agree. The deal is worth at least £700 million,  Transport for London predicted that passengers will see the first significant change early next year, with the introduction of a five-minute off-peak service to Woolwich Arsenal and a five-minute service between Bank and Lewisham until 11.30pm, cutting waiting times in half. Three-car trains will also be introduced between Stratford and Canary Wharf at weekends. In the longer term, a five-minute off-peak service will be running on all DLR routes by 2017. Tolerance is based on going beyond the superficial things that  divide us.  It’s the result of turning within and coming to know the self. If I can deal with my own ego, then my own anger can be resolved. This goes a long way in resolving external issues too. With my own ego out of the way, I will be able to handle anything! Otherwise it’s just the same old  thing – you versus me, yours versus mine, etc. – intolerance. If I’m unselfish and honest in my heart and am concerned about others’ needs, then I will be full enough to give. When you know the self in this way, then you can know others. “I should be understood” changes to “I should understand”. Not ” They should change”, but “I will give what’s needed”. Patience, peace and maturity develop. Spiritual tolerance cultivates innate wisdom, the kind you can’t get from books.
