Play Pointless on your mobile phone or tablet I’ve been a fan of BBC One teatime quiz show Pointless for a couple of years – and make sure I record it every day while I’m at work. The amusing interplay between jovial co-hosts Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, the likeable and down-to-earth contestants, the mind-taxing but accessible general knowledge questions – all the ingredients add up to a very enjoyable experience. With Richard previously adamant a Pointless app would never happen, I was very pleasantly surprised to see a mobile phone game based on the show was in development from Endemol Games UK – and picked it up straight away when it launched for iOS this week. Games based on TV shows have often been horrible letdowns in the past. I’ve played some less than impressive takes on Total Wipeout and Deal or No Deal, for instance. Flappy Bird , one of the App Store's most surprising success stories to date, has been removed from all the mobile stores, as the creator says that he "cannot take this anymore." The game rocketed to the top of the App Store and Google Play free download charts last month, and many press members and developers spent many hours attempting to explain the phenomenon. But creator Dong Nguyen didn't appear to be enjoying the wide-scale attention so much, with  various tweets  suggesting that it was all perhaps a bit too full-on for him to handle. Now the developers has pulled the game from both the App Store and Google Play entirely,  stating , "It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore." He added, "I also don't sell  Flappy Bird , please don't ask. And I still make games."
