giffgaff's Payback scheme has given customers back a record-breaking sum already this year.
The mobile virtual network operator rewards subscribers for answering questions in the giffgaff community forums, or by recommending the network to friends and family.
So far in 2014, giffgaff - which piggybacks on O2's network - has paid back £1.7 million.
In total, £558,842 was claimed back as cash by 11,273 giffgaff members and 9,687 members chose to have their points converted into phone credit.
Among them, one individual has notched up £10,045 in payments and £56,500 has been given to charity.
"Member satisfaction is always our highest priority, and we love being able to give something back to our passionate community," giffgaff CEO Mike Fairman said.
"We believe in a better way of doing mobile, and Payback is just one way we can share our success with the members who keep driving our business forward."
giffgaff launched in 2009 and recently started selling handsets including the iPhone.
