From the start of next season Premier League clubs will wear shirts adorned with a new set of names and numbers. The Premier League and Official Partner Sporting iD have worked closely to develop the modern and vibrant designs, featuring updated lettering which aligns with the Premier League's visual identity and includes the new logo introduced from this season.
In a first change for 10 years to the names and numbers used in the Premier League, there will be five approved colourways: white with black details and black, navy, red, and yellow; all with white details.
The only previous style was the original set, introduced under license for all clubs, for the start of the 1997/98 campaign.
Sporting iD's association with the Premier League began over 20 years ago when the company exclusively supplied all clubs with officially licensed Premier League sleeve badges for the 1994/95 season.
As part of the process the Premier League surveyed more than 1,500 fans on six proposed designs and enlisted the help of Premier League commentator Peter Drury to test the visibility of the new design during live testing at Watford FC.
"Sporting iD continues to deliver an excellent service supplying names, numbers and sleeve badges for the Premier League," said Premier League Managing Director Richard Masters. "We are excited to see next season’s new style and colours, starting with the unveiling of our clubs' kits at individual launches in the coming months.
Sporting iD Global License Director Robert Thayne said: "Extremely proud of our Premier League association, Sporting iD is excited to be introducing the Premier League’s new look player identification names and numbers for the 2017/18 club kit launches and beyond.
